Sociology was established in the year 1973. Since its establishment Sociology is being taught as a optional subject for UG programme i.e., BA. There is no permanent faculty in the department after the retirement / death of the senior permanent staff. The vacancies have not been filled up due to the economy measure imposed by the State Government for a long period. From 2021, the department is headed by Sri Ramesh Pujar, Assistant professor appointed by the management. Now under NEP, the subject is offered as one of the DSC for BA students. Conventional and Interactive method of teaching is adopted by the faculty of the department. The faculty of the department encourages the students to participate in co-curricular activities and enroll themselves to NCC & NSS to discharge social responsibilities. Insist the students to participate in university and inter colligate level cultural competitions.
